Reports say that Chelsea will lose more than ten points next season if they break the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Since a group led by Todd Boehly bought the Premier League club at the end of May 2022, the Blues have spent about £1 billion on new players.
Chelsea needs to get rid of players worth more than £100 million.
According to new sources, Chelsea needs to raise more than £100 million by June 30 or they will break the Premier League’s rules about money.
Earlier this week, Stefan Borson, a former advisor for Manchester City, said on talkSPORT, “I think trouble is coming and they will fail FFP for this season unless – and it doesn’t look likely – they sell well over 100 million worth of players by June 30th.”
“But they only have a short time to do that now because the Euros are right after the season.”
As of June 14, someone like Conor Gallagher will be at the Euros, so if they want to ship him before June 30, they will have to move quickly. The likely buyers will know that Chelsea needs to get rid of players.
The break that Chelsea could be ready for is much bigger than Everton’s, and they will also think that it was done on purpose. They can’t hide behind a stadium and break FFP by accident.
Kieran Maguire, a football finance expert, has found a “mitigating factor” that could help Chelsea if they lose points.
Maguire told Football Insider, “If Chelsea are charged, the club will be punished, so the change in ownership doesn’t matter.”
“Otherwise, clubs could get away with bad behaviour because they could give the club to someone else and start over.” It could, however, be used as mitigating factors to lessen the sentence, and they seem to have also told the authorities about their possible violations.
“We saw this with Birmingham City when they realised they had spent too much.” Because of that, they did get a concession on the points penalty that was given to them. Chelsea’s new owners could do the same.

Senior reporter for the website Pete O’Rourke gave more details. He said on the Inside Track show, “It keeps changing, but I think it’s going to be more than 10 points if the breaches are worse than Everton’s.”
“That seems pretty clear, and I think that’ll happen. But we’ll have to wait and see if Chelsea files an appeal.”
Bent: Romelu Lukaku should be given another chance.
Darren Bent, a former striker for Tottenham, thinks that Chelsea could save a lot of money this summer by giving Romelu Lukaku another chance to play for Mauricio Pochettino’s team next season.
For Bent, it was simple: “If you can get him back on a free, it’s a no-brainer.” Then he’s not at my football club. You don’t have to buy him; he’s free. This is clear to me, but I understand.
“I think Chelsea fans are remembering the interview and how rude he was to the club. Some of them just can’t let it go, and I understand that.”
“I can see that point of view, but if you want to buy a centre forward for 80–90 million euros and there’s one there for free… Listen up, the talk needs to happen between him and Poch.
“It’s not the worst choice in the world if they can fix their relationship and save £80 to £90 million for a job they might need.”
