Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey opened up on his injury setbacks this season. The Ghana international had been out for a number of months with a hamstring injured, missing a large portion of the season.
After missing the Africa Cup of Nations, he made his return to action in the 6-0 away win over Sheffield United, playing 25 minutes, before coming off the bench late on against Brentford.
He has stayed at London Colney throughout this month’s international break to work on his fitness and is now in line to play a big part in the remainder of the season.
Arsenal were in a similar position last season but fell short in the latter stages, courtesy of an injury to William Saliba and a number of poor results.
Despite topping the table, supercomputers and pundits have continued to back City to retain their title. However, Partey has claimed he is “ready to give everything” to help the club over the line.
Speaking on the official club website, he said: “Last year we did so well, and came very close to what we wanted to achieve. This year we have lots of big players and I know we are capable of doing big things.
“It’s been tough for me, being injured for a long time, but now I am ready to give everything I can to the team.
Anything I can add to our level, I will do. I worked hard during my rehab to be able to come back to the level I need to be at. Now I want to get back with the team.”
