Huge Mikel Arteta Arsenal forecast by Luis Enrique for the Man City and Liverpool championship race

Luis Enrique has named his favourite to win the Premier League this season. Arsenal, who surrendered top spot to Manchester City in the final weeks of the campaign last term, are currently leading the title race – though only on goal difference.

The Gunners leapfrogged Liverpool at the start of March with a 2-1 win over Brentford at the Emirates Stadium. The same weekend, Jurgen Klopp’s side were then held to a draw by the reigning champions at the Etihad Stadium.

With some marquee fixtures still to be played, the title race is far from over. Arsenal are to lock horns with Manchester City immediately after the international break before facing Tottenham in April and Manchester United in May.

Liverpool must also test themselves against the Lilywhites and Red Devils before the end of the season. It could be argued that Pep Guardiola’s side, however, has a slightly more favourable run-in, though they’ve been widely tipped as favourites to win the Champions League.

With the international break underway, Enrique returned to Twitch to answers supporters’ questions. When asked who he would like to win the English top-flight this season, the Paris Saint-Germain boss said: “I would like it to be Mikel.

CHECK THIS OUT÷  "I just hope Arteta will bench him against us because he's the only Arsenal player I fear."- Man City player Kyle Walker acknowledged that, contrary to Martinelli, Odegaard, or Kai Havertz, he is afraid of the 24-year-old Arsenal player.

“And if it’s not him, I would like it to be Pep (Guardiola). Otherwise, Liverpool or Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. But I think that It’s City who will win.”

Following the Champions League draw earlier this month, Enrique claimed the Parisians were ‘lucky’ to avoid Arsenal and Manchester City. PSG drew Barcelona in the quarterfinal and, if the French giants progress to the semi-final, they’ll face either Borussia Dortmund or Atletico Madrid.
