“I want to join Arsenal and replace Martinelli on the team.” With the player pleading with the club not to let him down like Caicedo, Brighton is considering selling their star player to Arsenal for less than £80 million.

After missing out on the opportunity to recruit the Swedish striker for £37 million less than two years ago, Arsenal is reportedly interested in paying £100 million for Alexander Issak this summer.

In 2022, Newcastle United invested £63 million to get Isak, and they were rewarded. In 60 games for the team, the 24-year-old has contributed four assists and 29 goals.

When Isak came to St. James’ Park, Arsenal apparently showed interest in him, but they were unable to sign the gifted striker. Isak is becoming one of the Premier League’s most clinical players, thus this choice appears to be costing more and more every minute.

After this season, Newcastle will look to raise money in order to comply with sustainability and profit regulations, which may present an opportunity for a second recruitment of Isak.

With Isak anticipated to cost them £100 million, he’s one player they might seek to offload to balance the books. Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly prepared to make a move as well, according to a recent report.

Howe is adamant that his star striker will stay, even if the Magpies will need to sell this summer, and he does not want to lose a player for the fourteenth time.

Mitoma could follow in the footsteps of other Brighton players who have moved to Big Six clubs, two of whom – Ben White and Leandro Trossard – have joined Arsenal.

However, any transfer is unlikely to take place during the January window as Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi is reluctant to part with a key player in the middle of the season.

Brighton’s history shows that they only sell their best players when the timing and transfer fee is in line with their demands. Brighton are said to want at least £70 million for Mitoma and could open negotiations in the summer, but Arsenal are willing to open negotiations for the 26-year-old striker.

Arsenal successfully negotiated with the Seagulls after securing the signatures of Trossard and White, but had more problems trying to get Moises Caicedo to leave the south coast in January 2022.

As Arsenal intensify their pursuit of Kaoru Mitoma, the transfer saga promises to be one to watch in the upcoming summer window.

With competition from Manchester United and Manchester City, Arsenal will be hoping to secure the Japanese winger’s signature to bolster their attacking options ahead of the next campaign. Fans eagerly await updates on negotiations and whether Mitoma will indeed make the move to the Emirates Stadium.
