Arsenal will be sweating over the fitness of Gabriel Martinelli ahead of Sunday’s crucial Premier League title clash with Manchester City.
The Brazilian has missed the Gunners’ last three games after suffering an injury in the 6-0 win at Sheffield United earlier this month. Martinelli assisted and scored at Bramall Lane before being forced off in the 64th minute.
He was spotted wearing a protective boot and walking with the aid of crutches at the Emirates Stadium the following week when the north Londoners defeated Brentford. Martinelli was spotted on his way to the dressing room when spotted by 360gist.com.ng in the mixed zone.
This season, Martinelli has scored eight times and assisted another five.
Despite failing to replicate his numbers from last season – 15 goals and six assists – he has continued to be a threat for Mikel Arteta in both the Premier League and Champions League.

After watching his side thrash the Blades, Arteta was quizzed on the severity of Martinelli’s problem that had forced him off. “We had a little issue with Gabi Martinelli,” he said. “He had a slight cut in his foot. We need to wait and see how it is.”
Prior to the Champions League win over Porto earlier this month, Arteta confirmed the 22-year-old was still suffering with a foot issue. “Gabriel Martinelli misses out on today’s squad due to the foot issue sustained at Sheffield United,” he said.

Fantasy Premier League gives Martinelli a 75 per cent chance of playing on Sunday afternoon despite him not playing since the start of the month.
Martinelli scored in the reverse fixture back in October, netting the winner late on in the Emirates Stadium. Arteta is expected to provide an update on the forward in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
