Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has insisted his team do not fear Harry Kane despite the striker’s impressive form for Bayern Munich. The England captain is set to face a hostile reception at the Emirates Stadium during Tuesday evening’s Champions League quarter-final first leg due to his long association with the Gunners’ fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane, who has scored 38 goals in all competitions since moving from Spurs to Bayern last summer, poses a significant threat to Arsenal’s European ambitions. The Gunners are well aware of Kane’s abilities with the England star putting 14 goals past them in 19 games during his time with Spurs.
However, Odegaard is unfazed, saying: “(He’s) a good player, of course, and I have played against him a few times and we know the quality he has in the box and he is also good in the link up,” adding “We are facing a good team on Tuesday.
“I think we should respect him but I don’t think we should fear anyone and we should focus on ourselves and the quality we have in our team. And that is all.
