Pundit expressed disappointment with Arsenal player Mikel Arteta’s behavior, stating that he believes he is not good enough for the £50m contract.

It’s easy to say that this week’s major talking point in football has been Ben White’s exclusion from the most recent England roster.

Despite the Arsenal defender’s excellent play, Gareth Southgate once again did not choose him.

On this occasion, however, Southgate disclosed that White’s desire was not to be chosen. Naturally, that has sparked a lot of discussion among pundits and football enthusiasts.

Although Southgate himself downplayed reports of a relationship between assistant coach Steve Holland and White, Chris Sutton implied that White might come to regret his choice.

But former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has taken a more critical stance against White and blasted the Arsenal player.

Stan Collymore feels Ben White isn’t good enough for England. In his most recent piece for CaughtOffside, Collymore was blunt in his criticism of White, stating that he is insufficient whatever.

“While I am deeply saddened by the decision a player has made, I do not believe England has suffered a significant loss.

Collymore commented, “White is having a decent season for Arsenal, but I don’t think he’s good enough anyway.”

Give him credit where credit is due; he is a versatile player who can play center back, right back, and even drift into midfield.

However, he will never be able to surpass Kyle Walker or John Stones, who are equally capable of filling those duties.

So, Mr. White, thank you but no thanks from me. We are aware of your desire to be a perfect starter, however, particularly in international and tournament football, you aren’t always able to get your wish.

It’s a squad game, and you have to seize the opportunity if you’re fortunate enough to receive it. Since he turned down the chance, I believe he should never be called up again, no matter who is in charge.

Easily adequate but not problematic
Collymore phoning a £50 million man White being unsatisfactory is probably a bit harsh.

CHECK THIS OUT÷  Harry Kane's fitness has been clarified by Gareth Southgate ahead of Bayern Munich's Champions League match against Arsenal.

This player has been productive all season long and is a mainstay in one of Europe’s top defenses.

White is capable of playing for England and could do so under different conditions.

Collymore is correct, though, in that we have a plethora of choices at right back. He isn’t beating out players like Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker. So it’s correct on that front.

Overall, though, it seems like a great shame for all of us. Hopefully, England and White can work things out in the future and get White back in the saddle.
