Pundit expresses his opinion on whether Chelsea should terminate Pochettino or appoint Jose Mourinho.

Should Chelsea’s management name Jose Mourinho or fire Mauricio Pochettino? Pundit expresses his opinions on the matter

Football analyst and former left-back for Liverpool, Stephen Warnock, has advised Chelsea to continue with Mauricio Pochettino and drop plans to bring in Jose Mourinho for a third term.

After more than seven months in charge, Pochettino has failed to truly inspire his Chelsea team, and the 52-year-old is beginning to feel the heat.

Even though they intend to stay with Pochettino through the end of the season, some outlets have reported that the Chelsea board is beginning to look at alternatives for the Argentine manager.

A few other reports have connected some of the top managers to the position, including former AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho, Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim, and Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.

But Warnock feels Pochettino should have more time, and he thinks it would be a bad idea to bring Mourinho back.

Regarding the rumors of Mourinho joining Chelsea, he stated to Sky Sports, “For me, no, no.” You need to put it behind you. From a nostalgia standpoint, I believe it would be amazing for him to return for a third spell.

“That chapter in Chelsea’s history is over; you need to focus on the future. Would his management approach be effective with such a squad? It could work. Perhaps it is something that energizes the team. However, I continue to believe that Pochettino deserves a chance.
