According to the source, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez must decide whether to sell or keep Diaz after Arsenal made an offer of €70 million (£60 million) for him before the summer transfer deadline.
The former Manchester City player, who was present at the Etihad Stadium while Arteta was his assistant, has drawn interest from Arsenal after demonstrating in recent weeks that he is prepared to take his place among Real Madrid’s top players.
However, the summer acquisition of Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer “means it will be even more difficult for Brahim to become a starter.”
As the main club requesting his services in the upcoming transfer window, Arsenal is “in the auction” for him, and he will “consider packing his bags.”

While Ray is currently on a season-long loan from Brentford, Arsenal, who has long been interested in Diaz, will also pay £27 million to the Brentford goalkeeper this summer to complete Ray’s permanent move to the Emirates Stadium.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside, “We already know that Arsenal’s plans for next season include a permanent purchase of goalkeeper David Rayo from Brentford after his heroics in the Champions League this week.”
“Arsenal has an option to buy under this contract, but for financial fair play, they made it an initial loan with a buyout clause even though there was a previous agreement between Brentford and Arsenal.
