Arsenal gained a huge Premier League title advantage over Liverpool and Manchester City this past weekend. Heading into the latest game week, Jurgen Klopp’s side were at the summit but that has now changed following their 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
Following dominant victories for both Man City and Arsenal against Crystal Palace and Brighton respectively, the pressure was on Liverpool. Despite going in front, Man United turned the game on its head in the second half with a Mohamed Salah penalty helping the Reds salvage a point.
As a result of that, the Gunners are now outright top of the league and on the same number of games played as their title rivals, so their destiny is completely in their own hands. Aston Villa (H) – April 14
Just one of Arsenal’s four defeats this season came against Aston Villa back in December. Unai Emery’s side have struggled for consistent form in recent weeks, however they will be out to win as many points as possible having lost their top-four advantage over Tottenham.
The clash does arrive between the latest round of European football which could have an impact on the game with Villa taking on Lille and Arsenal welcoming Bayern Munich to Emirates Stadium a few days earlier.
Chelsea (H) – April 23
Arsenal were fortunate to leave the away clash against Chelsea with a point after coming from two goals behind. Despite the Blues’ inconsistencies this season, both Liverpool and Manchester City have failed to beat Chelsea in league action this campaign.
The Gunners will undoubtedly be favourites for the clash however Cole Palmer will be out to score against Mikel Arteta in the third separate game this season.
Tottenham (A) – April 28
The impact Tottenham can have on the Premier League title race cannot be understated. Ange Postecoglou’s side must still play Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool with the latter clash the only one away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The North London Derby at Emirates Stadium ended level but Spurs will certainly fancy their chances to go one better this time.
Manchester United (A) – May 11
Amazingly, despite Manchester United conceding numerous chances in every game, Erik ten Hag’s side often take points off their big six rivals.
This past Sunday, Liverpool had to fight from behind to claim a point after United scored two goals from just four shots.
